Qualification summary

This qualification has beendesigned to meet the needs of those of you who are looking for a job. Many of the units in this qualification have been designed to help you develop your own set of work skills needed to enter the workplace, including searching for a job andinterview skills. It can also be taken by those who are already in work but who wish to develop their personal skills set.

If you only require a basic knowledge of the “soft skills” required for the workplace then you could choose the Level 1 Award in Skills for Work (RQF) which is ideally suited for someone starting on a traineeship.

This qualification has a wide range of units which can help you with your own personal life skills including:

  • managing your own money
  • managing a work-life balance

In addition to these units we have also included workplace specific skills such as:

  • working in a team
  • learning from more experienced people
  • building working relationships with colleagues
  • setting and meeting targets at work

This group of units allows you to pick and choose the ones that benefit you the most in your current situation. Once youhave achieved this qualification you could progress onto work based learning or an apprenticeship.

This qualification does not require you to have any prior qualifications or levels of previous learning. There is no minimum age requirement for this qualification. .

Qualification structure

Learners must achieve 13 credits in total. A minimum of 8 credits from Group A and a maximum of 5 credits from Group B. A maximum of 6 credits can be taken at level 2.

Total Qualification Time (TQT) is 130 hours

Minimum Guided Learning Hours (GLH) are 110
