Qualification summary

The Level 2 Diploma in Working in Care Services (RQF) is designed to demonstrate your knowledge and ability in delivering high quality care services. It also covers the skills that you need for a successful career in providing a range of care services. This qualification is aimed at learners already in a variety of roles and job titles, including, but not restricted to:

care workers
community workers
support workers
outreach workers
domiciliary care workers

This qualification covers essential mandatory areas such as:

safeguarding
communication skills
person-centred approach
duty of care

Optional units include, but are not restricted to:

dementia awareness
understanding mental health
record-keeping
the use of assistive technology

Once you have achieved this qualification you could progress to working in a wide range of settings in the adult social care sector.

This qualification does not require you to have any prior qualifications or levels of previous learning. There are no age limits attached to learners undertaking this qualification unless this is a legal requirement of the process or the environment. However, this qualification is not suitable for those looking to enter the care sector and who want to acquire the knowledge to be able to do so.
