Our People

Our friendly and approachable team have an in-depth understanding of the world of work-based learning. They are the people which make the difference to our customers on a daily basis.

Responsive

The needs of the UK economy are ever-evolving. We work with employers and sector experts to develop products and services that help learners find, sustain and progress in employment.

Your Expectations

You require excellent service, products and systems that meet your needs. We offer all of the above and more.

Don't just take our word for it...

I began the centre recognition process with Faye at Skillsfirst after an introduction on LinkedIn. From the start the process was user-friendly, efficient and (important at times like these) in no way a drain on resources. Both Faye and Nichola were always available via phone or email and they ensured everything was processed as quickly as possible. The customer service received was excellent from day one and continues to be so. Both were professional, knowledgeable and totally approachable. The process was open and transparent, with no hidden costs, charges or “loopholes”. The costs for recognition and registrations is highly competitive and the service much greater than that offered by many other AO’s. We are really keen to get moving with the Skillsfirst Qualifications and believe they are definitely the right organisation to help us through Lockdown!

As a company we approached Skillsfirst Awards to support the designing of new courses. We first met to discuss our ideas which Skillsfirst were keen to hear. It was such a valued experience as both companies had different ideas which resulted in some amazing qualifications being created. Whenever we had any questions Skillsfirst were able to answer and provide guidance. We look forward to continuing working with Skillsfirst in the future.

The support and guidance from the Skillsfirst team has been invaluable with equipping delivery staff with the knowledge and confidence to prepare for End-point Assessment. The attendance of team meetings, standardisation and training sessions by Skillsfirst staff has helped to develop excellent working relationships and ensure that the delivery of the new apprenticeship standards is in line with the End-point Assessment requirements.

Skillsfirst are no longer using the SecureAssess or SecureClient platforms for the scheduling, or taking of Functional Skills exams.   All Functional Skills exams (legacy and reformed) should be scheduled and taken within the XAMS platform.   For those centres already using XAMS for Reformed Functional Skills exams, your current logins allow you to schedule legacy Functional Skills and ICT automatically.   Those centres who have not yet used XAMS will need to submit user requests for centre staff. Please complete and return the attached form to exams@skillsfirst.co.uk. If you deliver Functional Skills through one of our awarding organisation (AO) partners, please send the form to them as they will create your user account.

Level 5 Lead Adult Care Worker Standard - Update

Skills for Care have advised us that the assessment plan for the new Level 5 Leader in Adult Care Apprenticeship Standard has still not been published by IfATE. This is due to a delay in the funding band being approved and signed off by the Minister.   Skills for Care have also confirmed that the current SASE framework  the Higher Apprenticeship in Care Leadership and Management (for England) (level 5) will therefore be extended for a further six months until the funding band has been agreed.   In line with this, we have also extended the end date for our current HSC5 Skillsfirst Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services (England) (RQF) qualification until 31 July 2020 to allow centres to continue registering learners on this framework.
